Bet you can't Eat just One!

I had just finished putting some pork chops in the oven for dinner. I was also eating some Lay's potato chips. I had handed Matthew and Emily each one or two chips during that process. They were playing in the living room so I ran to the bathroom (3 min max). I could hear that they were pushing a kitchen chair across the tile, as they often do. But little did I know they were up to "no good." I came out to this crime scene:

Never too old for baby toys

Last night's sibling battle was over the exersaucer. Glad we still had it out and available. Perfect time to practice sharing! And Emily makes sure it is extra fun by wearing a tutu!

A Bug's Life

Matthew and Emily found a beetle on the kitchen floor. They were very interested and went in for a closer look or two. Giggling and laughing for 5 minutes. Then Emily steps on it and says "bye bye" and waves at it. (What????) We have a case of "monkey see, monkey do" so then Matthew does the same thing.... Needless to say the beetle did not survive it's farewell.... How do they know this??

WMOM Easter Egg Hunt

This past weekend we attended the WMOM Annual Easter egg hunt at Forestgate Park. They had the Easter bunny, real live bunnies and an egg hunt. We played with the real bunnies first. The bunnies hopped around very fast. Matthew and Emily giggled and tried to catch them. Emily was more interested in them that Matthew. That's only because Matthew was much more interested in the Easter bunny. He climbed right up onto his lap and was more than happy to stay there. He kept smiling and laughing. Emily was a bit more reluctant but figured "if Matthew is doing it so will I." Matthew went to have some extra visits with the bunny through out the morning. I guess he wanted to make sure that his basket would be filled with some extra treats on Easter morning.

Then there was the Easter egg hunt. Matthew called the eggs, "balls" and would pick them up and throw them. Emily picked one egg and that's the only one she liked. All of the others were not as good so I put some in her basket for her. They played on the swings and slide and had some snacks and we headed home for some lunch and a long afternoon nap.

Mardi Gras 2013

David and I went to a couple of Mardi Gras balls with our friends and Matthew and Emily went to their first parade. They loved it. Emily enjoyed the bands and danced to every single one. She also waved her hand for some beads. Her favorite catch was a stuffed puppy dog. Matthew loved the police motorcade and the firetrucks. His favorite catch was a monster truck and a a ball.

4 wheelin'

For Christmas, Nonky Coon (aka Uncle Blake) bought Matthew and Emily 4 wheelers. We took them out on the street. They aren't quite sure how to work them yet but being outside and playing is fun!!! Even when it is cold!!
