Mardi Gras 2013

David and I went to a couple of Mardi Gras balls with our friends and Matthew and Emily went to their first parade. They loved it. Emily enjoyed the bands and danced to every single one. She also waved her hand for some beads. Her favorite catch was a stuffed puppy dog. Matthew loved the police motorcade and the firetrucks. His favorite catch was a monster truck and a a ball.

I can feed myself!!

Independent... Matthew and Emily want to do everything themselves including eating yogurt with a spoon (or fork)!! They are pretty good at it but it does get a little messy! Can't learn unless you try....

4 wheelin'

For Christmas, Nonky Coon (aka Uncle Blake) bought Matthew and Emily 4 wheelers. We took them out on the street. They aren't quite sure how to work them yet but being outside and playing is fun!!! Even when it is cold!!

Santa Clause is Coming to Town

We went to Market St to visit Santa. After Matthew and Emily told Santa what they wanted (Matthew wanted a "big truck" and Emily wanted a "baby stroller"), we had dinner at The Counter for delicious burgers and had ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery. Then we watched the Christmas light show and listened to Christmas songs.

Walkers

Emily was walking at 13 months old and Matthew at 17 months old. Emily was quicker to walk and is faster but Matthew is more steady and sure footed. Emily went from one step to 10 steps in one day. She is always fast. Fast crawler, fast walker which means she falls down a lot because her body can't keep up with those twinkle toes!
The pediatrician asked me at the 15 month appointment if Matthew was walking and I said no then later in the conversation I said something about them going up the stairs and he said "Wait, Matthew goes up the stairs by himself?" I replied "Yes!" He said "Then he can walk, he is just choosing not to...." That boy! Everything at his own pace!! Now that they can both walk, Mommy and Daddy are on their toes (literally)
